LOS ANGELES - July 22, 2010 - In his acting debut, multi-platinum singing sensation Justin Bieber will guest star in the season premiere of the CBS Television Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television series, CSI:CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, on the CBS Television Network.
Bieber will play Jason McCann, a troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother-a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation with the CSIs. It is the beginning of an emotional story that will conclude later in the season.
"Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world. We'd like to believe that the phenomenon of CSI has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers. This will be true event television," Executive Producers Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker said in joint statement. "We're looking forward to Justin's dramatic star turn, not only in the premiere, but in a continuing seasonal arc." Born in Stratford, Ontario, Justin Bieber is a multi-talented pop/R&B singer, and a self-taught musician on drums, guitar, piano and trumpet. Bieber's video for "Baby" is currently the most-watched music video on YouTube with more than 250 million views. Bieber is the first solo artist in history to send four songs from a debut album into the Billboard Hot 100's Top 40 prior to the album's release. He is also the youngest male solo artist in the history of the Billboard 200 to chart a #1 album since 13-year-old Little Stevie Wonder in the summer of 1963. In 2007, manager Scooter Braun brought 13-year old Justin to Atlanta, where he met multi-platinum superstar Usher. Justin signed his first professional deal with RBMG, the joint-venture label formed by Usher and Braun with Antonio ‘L.A.' Reid, Chairman, Island Def Jam Music Group. Now in its eleventh season, CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is the most-watched television show in the world. CSI is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. The executive producers are Jerry Bruckheimer, Carol Mendelsohn, Ann Donahue, Anthony Zuiker, Don McGill, Jonathan Littman, William Petersen, Cynthia Chvatal and Louis Milito. --------------------------------- I'm a fan of Justin, but i'm not sure if i'm going to like him playing in CSI xD haha

I've read a lot of CSI fans comments today and I'd say about 90% are against him guest starring on the show.

I don't like this part of the article: "..not only in the premiere, but in a continuing seasonal arc." Seriously why!? Most of his fans are too young to watch CSI anyway.. I'm not happy with the news

CBS is about to get a lot more dreamy. The perfectly coifed teen dream that is Justin Bieber just inked a deal to guest-star in the season premiere of "CSI," according to E! Online.
The pop star will play Jason McCann, a "troubled teen who is faced with a terrible decision regarding his only brother — a decision that leads him into an explosive confrontation with the CSIs. It is the beginning of an emotional story that will conclude later in the season," CBS told E!
Bieber seems to be up for the role. The 16-year-old — who is in the middle of his My World Tour, which stopped in Los Angeles this week — tweeted Thursday, "Morning world...we got the acting coach here....learning 'a new craft.' "
CBS also seems pretty excited about getting Bieber on the forensics drama. "Every 20 years, a phenomenon like Justin Bieber graces our world," the network's Carol Mendelsohn, Don McGill and Anthony Zuiker wrote in a statement. "We'd like to believe that the phenomenon of CSI has had the same impact on popular culture. The opportunity to bring them together in the premiere is a great treat for our audience and all of its new viewers. This will be true event television."
The multiplatinum young singer is following in the footsteps of another chart-topping pop star: Taylor Swift also appeared on the long-running TV show back in March 2009. On the show, Swift played a brunet country singer named Haley Jones, whose family owned a seedy Las Vegas motel.

I'm not happy with the news Totally agree Marika! And I did not like Taylor Swift in season 9. Her acting was awful, thank god George Eads turned in a stellar performance to drag our attention away from the monstrosity that was Haley Jones! Eh, my opinion

Eh, my opinion ah I didn't really like Taylor Swift either but I read so many good comments I thought I was the only one:o) I thought Rascal Flatts did good though but thats my opinion

Thank God other people are against JB being on CSI! Im so upset to put it nicely! I absloutley dislike JB first off because he cant sing and the fact that he is very rude to others around him..(I happened to be watching a program on MTV and he was very disrespectful to his tutor and his mom..he called his tutor stupid and refused to apologise when his mother asked him too...but whatever kinda going off point here lol)
And Taylor Swifts performance sure isnt going to get any Emmy nomintations if you know what I mean! haha

I don't really know what to think about that....I really don't know him so I can't say....I just hope he won't ruin the episode and if he is not a really nice guy I just hope someone from the cast will just kick his a**!

Mendelsohn: It’s An Explosive Story Posted by Rachel - 04/08/10 at 08:08 pm
CSI Files previously reported that teen sensation Justin Bieber would appear in the season premiere of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation this fall. More information has now been revealed about his guest starring role. (Spoilers after the jump!)
Bieber got the job after he expressed interest in being on the show. “I got a call that Justin really was a fan of CSI [and] that’s all I have to hear, and so it just was perfect timing,” executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told MTV News. “Justin was looking to make his dramatic acting debut. We had an incredible role for a young actor in [our season premiere], so it just seemed like the perfect marriage.”
“There was one day that Justin had available and that was the day he came to CSI and filmed his four scenes for the premiere,” she continued. “We will introduce his character in the premiere in September and then it will be a character arc and we will see him again playing Jason McCann again in February.”
Bieber will play a troubled young man on the show. Jason was brought up in foster care, and the circumstances of his life left him “scarred and angry”, Mendelsohn explained. She added, “When we first meet Jason, we meet him at a community center where he’s giving a testimonial in honor of a man who takes Jason and his older brother in when they had no one else, and that man is now in jail and Jason’s brother is out for revenge and looking for payback.”
The CSIs are trying to find Jason’s brother, and the teenager ends up “caught in the middle”. Mendelsohn told USA Today, “The kid is in some trouble. When your brother is out looking to kill cops, you’re not going anywhere.” However, the audience will be left wondering about Jason’s innocence when the credits roll after the season premiere. “At the end of the episode, we’re left with the question: Is Jason a good kid stuck in a bad situation or is Jason a bad kid hiding behind his cuteness?” Mendelsohn said. “You can see why Justin was such a perfect choice to play this role. … It’s an explosive story.” According to the showrunner, Bieber did “a really good job” filming his first dramatic television role.
Sources: MTV News and USA Today. You can also see a different picture of Bieber posing with a fake corpse on the People website.
So it's not just one episode but two.. argh!
